Installation Fee
All residential installations require a one time install fee in the amount of $279. All of the equipment installed remains the propery of Rainy Day. Rainy Day is responsible for and maintains the installed equipment for the duration of your service.
Money Back Guarantee
Rainy Day offers a 30 day Money Back Guarantee on the install and first month service fees for consumer installs. In order to qualify for a refund, the customer must contact and receive a confirmation number from Rainy Day Support within the first 30 days from the install date.
System Notifications
Automated email notifications will notify you when you reach 75% of your monthly limit to help prevent you from going over your limit. If you are unsure about your monthly usage, please contact Rainy Day Support for assistance.
Overage Fees
Monthly transfer limits are in place to ensure that all subscribers have fair and equal access. Periodically subscribers may require above average data transfer. In order to accommodate the addition bandwidth usage an overage fee is charged when an account goes past their monthly allowed transfer.
Rather than cutting off the service until the start of the next billing cycle; an automated system will email the account owner to let them know they will be invoiced before going over. The standard overage fee is $6 per GB that is transferred beyond the monthly limit on the account.
Equipment
Rainy Day invests in the best equipment and materials available to install our equipment, ensuring you get reliable high speed Internet at your home or business.
Modem/Radio - This is a proprietary device that uses wireless microwave technology to communicate with Rainy Day's network. It comes with a power supply and a CAT5 wire that connects to your computer or local router.
Outdoor CAT5 Cable - One type of installation has the modem/radio outdoors connected directly to the antenna. This cable runs from your roof down the side of your house or building directly to where your computer or router is located. This cable is shielded, grounded and armoured with UV protection to ensure a quality install that can survive outdoors anywhere in Manitoba. The outdoor CAT5 cable going to the outdoor radio must not exceed 100 meters in length for technical reasons. Standard installs include up to 25 meters.
Outdoor Antenna - There are a variety of antennas used such as panel or yagi style antennas.
Tripod and Pole - The standard install uses a 3 or 5 foot tripod with a pole up to 15 feet.
Equipment Ownership - All modems, radios, antennas, poles, tower parts, wires and tripods remain at all times the property of Rainy Day. Rainy Day is responsible for maintaining this equipment.
Additional Install Fees
In some cases the standard install fee may not be enough due to the extra efforts needed to bring you online, such as more height needed to receive the signal. In other cases you might want the install to be done to better suit your desires.
